Online Tickets and Airline Travel

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this,

I am traveling from ottawa to Bc and i have burnt my mp3s and files to Cds as im am leaving my computer at home. I am curious with the uproar of piracy does Air Canada now check for burnt discs and if so is there a penatly for having them? Has anyone else travelled with their media burnt to discs?

It is not Air Canada that is your concern but the airport security. However it is unlikely that they will check the contents of any CD’s to determine what is on them, especially if they are in your checked luggage and packed in a CD case. It is common for people to copy their own data to CD’s so as long as you do not indicate on them what is burnt to them you should be okay. Of course there is always the chance but the major concern is with prohibited or restricted items.

They they look for dangerous stuff that could hurt people not illegal stuff. If you had something else in your bag that would cause them to open it like a spray can they would probably just take that and close up your bag.

If you were crossing the border, they might check them, but they really wouldn’t care about pirated music. The only thing they’d be checking for is child porn or terrorist plans.
