I want to be a pilot, and I want to join United Airlines.
But I have no idea where United Airlines stays. Is it a good company, do they have lots of passengers?

Thanks

We don’t need to learn how to land.

Lalalalalala

What kind of Identification (ID) would a person under 17 years old need to go to Puerto Rico with United Airlines during the dates of December 26th 2009 through January 1st 2010?

None. Kids under 18 are not required to have I.D. to travel domestically…and this includes Puerto Rico. It is WISE to always have a form of I.D. with you. If you do not have a dr. license or state I.D. card, your student I.D. will do. Really a good idea at your age to have a state I.D. card…but it is Not required. See site below and read 1st sentence.

I’m about to travel in the morning through united airlines but i’m not sure how much my luggage has to weigh, that way i won’t have to pay an extra fee for exceeding the weight required.

The baggage polices and fee schedules are on their website here: http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6722,52481,00.html It depends on whether you’re on a domestic or international flight, what service class you’re flying and your frequent flyer status.

I was just wondering, since United Airlines decided to let users connect their iPod or iPhone to their personal tv so that they can watch their own videos. Do we need to buy a cord to connect it to the TV or do they provide it so we only need to bring our iPod?

Most airplanes that do have a personal tv for you to watch your own videos will require a cable.

I am flying United Airlines from Sydney to San Francisco next March/April 2010. As far as i am aware there are no television screens with movies for entertainment. I was hoping to watch movies on my iPod but it only has five hours of video battery and the flight goes for fourteen hours. I am only flying economy. Please Help :)
Some aircraft have charging stations at your seat, however I wouldn’t ask the flight attendants to charge it for you in their galleys. The electricity current on some planes isn’t reliable or constant and could destroy your ipod. I’ve seen video of a laptop charging in flight and it actually caught fire. You can buy an extra battery or watch the inflight movie.

I might be going away for a year and I’m guessing I’ll need three luggage bags to fit all the stuff I’m bringing (pretty much my whole wardrobe) so how much will it cost? I’m flying on United Airlines

Check the United website for information on luggage charges. May be cheaper to ship via UPS or FedEx.

Which is better in terms of seat comfort and service?

I’m thinking of flying United Airlines’s economy class instead of Northwest this time.

Anyone who has taken both airlines’ flights from Singapore to Tokyo Narita? Would like to hear your opinion. I’m only choosing between these 2 airlines so please don’t recommend SIA as it’s out of my budget. Thanks.

IS the SAME, as both are using Standard B-747. ( not so new ) . Maybe MAS Sin- KL- Tokyo is good for price and services, also new B 777.

I may have a interview with United in the next week or so. Can anyone tell me from prior experience what the interview process is like? Good company to work for? And how often do they drug test?…Do they schedule by seniority?..etc; Just anything and everything you know and are able to suggest so this interview goes well. Ive always wanted to work for a major airline company and im hoping to land this opportunity. Thanks!

My dad used to work for United. All he told me about the interview process, though, was this:

Q: What is the most important thing at an airline?
A: Safety.

Any other answer to that question is wrong.

Hello,

I was wondering what the accommodations are like on flights between the United States (specifically O’Hare) and China (Shanghai) with United Airlines, in both economy and business classes. How many meals are served, are there seat-back television screens, etc.? I checked the United website but it offered little information.

Thank you!

I have flown the ORD - PVG route on United several times. United employs 777s on this route, unlike its west coast flights to Shanghai which are all 747s.

The flight takes 14 or 15 hours, so 2 full meals are served along with snacks and drinks. United’s international flights have better service standards than their domestic US flights. There are individual monitors on 777s, so you select your own entertainment. Seating is the same standard configuration as on domestic flights.

You will land at Shanghai Pudong International airport, which is about 30 miles from the city center. The world’s only commercial mag-lev train runs from the airport toward downtown. It is worth riding just for the sheer thrill (400 kilometers /hour speed). Enjoy your trip!
