Going on the trip with my family of 4,
How many bags can each person bring?

You can look at the details @ http://www.alaskaair.com/as/www2/help/faqs/CheckedBaggage.asp
But the upshot is that you can take no free checked luggage, but can take one carry-on bag, which can measure up to 10" H x 17" W x 24" L (25 x 43 x 61 cm) including wheels and handles, plus one personal item, such as a purse, briefcase or laptop computer. At least one of the items should be stowed under the seat in front of you.

Both have an annual fee of $30.00, and I would like to accumulate flier miles without a credit card. I hate debt, so I think this is a great option. What is your opinion? Thank you in advance.

It depends on where you live, but I would pick U.S. Airways b/c there are more options w/in the continental U.S. (I live in CA). Alaska Airlines is concentrated primarily on the west coast.

She is absolutely amazing. No, this isn’t a stalker. I just lost her # and I don’t know how else to find her. She is petite and beautiful. She has a very funny way of swearing too; she says "Oh Mylanta". We played Cards at Slots-O-Fun and she tore a nail before we left.
Please, can’t someone help me?
her name was Kera (sp). 5′ nothing and weighs 100lbs. 40-42 yrs old.

You’re pretty much looking for the needle in the haystack… I fly for Alaska and I can tell you that there literally dozens of flight attendants who get a layover in Vegas everyday…. Not only that, but, we have flight attendants based in Seattle, LA, Anchorage, and Portland who fly to Vegas everyday. It’s difficult to find one specific flight attendant and believe me, the company will not make it easy for you to find this person since they will not give out personal info on their inflight crew to anyone not even other flight attendants. So, your chances of finding her are one in a million…. It’s funny, but I also met a guy on one of my flights and lost his name and number and tried, begged, and pleaded with the customer service agents to help me out, but no luck…. Good luck. Don’t give up cause you might just get lucky and see her again on another flight.

My husband and I are looking into getting first class tickets for a trip down to the states sometime in the next year. The portion of the trip that would be first class would be Anchorage, AK to Seattle, WA. Can anyone tell me what the perks are on this particular flight segment? The flight time is about three and a half hours, do they serve a meal?

Thanks for any input!

I traveled to Seattle first class last winter. The differences that I noticed:
bottled water at your seat, better food on nicer dishes (didn’t pay extra for the meal, that I recall), roomier seat, free digi-player, more frequent offers of coffee, etc.
The main reason that people I know travel first class is that the seats are larger. If you are a big person or a person who just hates being crammed into the tiny seats for hours on end, then it may be worth the extra money to you for a longer flight. It was my first time flying first class in many years and I arrived relaxed.

Does alaska airlines charge to check bags, so that only carry-ons are free? This is what I have been told. If it is true, how much do they charge per bag/suitcase?

In the past, if you were flying within the state of Alaska, for example from Fairbanks to Juneau, the first bag would be free. You can call the airlines to check and see if this is still the case. 1 800 252 7522
Otherwise, the prices that the other answerers have quoted would be the ones that you pay.
If you are flying on more than one airline, be sure and check your bag all the way through to your destination. Sometimes, that will save you a few dollars.
Also, look on the web site for each airline. If they have different weight rules, size rules or carry-on rules, you could be in for an expensive shock on your return trip. Usually, you pay the fee for the airline that you first get on. So, if you fly first on Alaska, then on Delta, you would pay Alaska prices on the way out and Delta prices on the way home.
Whatever you do, travel with some cash. You will need it for any luggage fees and also for food on the plane.
Check the web sites about food, too. Some airlines aren’t accepting cash for food any longer. So, if you don’t have a credit card, you will have to buy food in the airport and bring it on with you.
Almost makes you want to stay home, doesn’t it?
Have a good trip!

My brother-in-law is a baggage handler for Alaska Airlines and when I saw your question I had to phone him.
Not to ask your question but to see if he was alright.

Who likes Southwest Airlines? What are your pros and cons? I’ve flown them but I’m just wondering what other people think. Do you wish they had inflight meals? How do they keep the cost so low.

Who has flown Alaska Airlines? What are they like? Are they good? Pros and cons?

Alaska, Alaska, Alaska!
Clean planes, nice people, innovative food, roomie legroom…this little airline could sure teach the big boys a thing or two.
Hands down…ALASKA

Any help would be wonderful,thanks!
