Northwest Airline vs. U.S. Airways?
I just moved to Boston, from Italy, 4 months ago. As soon as I arrived I applied for a Costumer Service Agent position with almost every Airline. Two months ago I got a job offer fron Northwest airlines, the human processing was long, almost a month, I went to training in Detroit for 2 weeks, and now I am working at Logan Int. Airport, but 2 weeks ago I also got a call from U.S airways, they wantyed to interview me, I just thought I would go and see what they could offer me. They offerd me almost the same things that NWA does. Only thing is I coould get medical benefits even if I am part-time. Now the issue is : I am confused. I want to know which airline is a better airline. US. Airways or NWA?
If anyone of you knows about airlines please help me !
Thanks
Teresa.
Well, both airlines are pretty stable and should be here for a while. As for the medical benefits for part-timers, that would depend on how much you plan on working and how long you plan on working. I don’t know your age but if your planning on making this job your career, then, you will need to work full time to get maximum retirement benefits. If you are working for short term and think you may need to drop to part time, then US Airways may be a better choice.
You also have to look at the route structure of each airline. Since your work for the airline, you can fly for free or cheap so you have to decide which airlines serves more of the destinations you want to visit.
Personally, I would stay with Northwest as you have been working there already and you don’t want to move around too much. It doesn’t look good on your resume. I’d rather work for Northwest anyhow as they have a better international route structure.
