Seeking restaurants in Toronto, Canada ?
I’m involved with a group headed for Toronto for a few days with about 40 people who enjoy fine dining along with visiting the museums. My task is put together a list of possible places to dine and museums to explore. We will be staying in one of the historic Hotels in downtown.
I have contacted Canoe Restaurant but interested in combining chinese, french, italian and maybe some good west indian restaurants. Suggestions please for lunch and dinner. This is spring trip!
Great choice at Canoe…it’s a really nice restaurant. It’s more Canadian fare than anything else though. Great view, nice chef.
Your problem, I am sure you’re aware, is that a group of 40 is very hard to accommadate. But here are in my opinion the BEST fine restaurants in Toronto that your group would enjoy.
Edit: Oh yeah, forgot Mark McEwan’s restaurants…One, North 44, and Bymark. Bymark isn’t that great, One is okay, it’s still quite new, but I am told it’s quite good. And North 44 has been a landmark for sometime now…can’t go wrong with North.
Chinese - Lai Weh Heen
French - Scaramouche (My fav), and Auberge du Pommier
Italian - Mistura
Various - George, Colborne Lane, and Splendido
As for Museams….the AGO, and ROM (C5 is a great resto there)
Additional Edit: C5 offers a great afternoon tea, in case you want to divert from lunch, and dinner. $25 or $35 with sparkling wine. 3-5 pm, I think it’s the best afternoon tea in Toronto. Better than the King Edward, or Windsor Arms.
