Online Tickets and Airline Travel

Archive for the ‘Lowest Airfare’ Category

Nearly every travel website offers the same deals as airfares are regulated by the airlines. In fact, by purchasing on travel websites, you are likely to pay more by way of booking fees!

You can use websites like www.travelocity.com and use the flexible travel dates functions or the " +/- 1 to 3 days" function which lets you search for the day you want but also 1 to 3 days before and after. Once you find an airfare you like, write down the flight numbers and such and go directly to the airlines website and book. You will get the same fare and you will not have to pay a booking fee. In fact, many airlines offer bonus miles in their frequent flyer programs just for booking online.

If you need to a hotel room then using a travel site like travelocity may get you a better deal as not all airlines offer packages directly. In fact, one time I went from Austin to Chicago and the cheapest airfare I could find was 600 for the dates I needed. But by booking with 3 nights at the Holiday Inn downtown, the best Holiday Inn in Chicago, I only paid 445, even though I could have stayed with my mom.

We’re looking for round-trip tickets and hotel for a trip in about a month. We’ve searched all of the obvious sites (yahoo, orbitz, cheaptickets, travelocity, priceline, etc, etc, etc. . . . plus many of the major airlines sites directly. Can anyone help? p.s. I won’t pay any website to join their "club" in order to view discounted deals. Thank you!

depending on where you are traveling to.
Im looking for a trip to Asia later on this year for about 6wks and found a site called www.asia.com
It had the cheapest airfare I could find aside from travelocity.
I know there is a place called www.Kayak.com
I looked there before and it wasnt any cheaper than Travelocity.
And I have looked all over the place, and I bought my ticket to Europe last year thru Travelocity and it was the cheapest I could find anywhere. Good luck.

Oh yeah, you can be a courrier for a shipping company and fly real cheap to where ever they have packages being sent. THey need a human body to take a package over, so they will fly you over for dirt cheap, but most dont involve return fare, and a lot usually leave from the main airport hubs like New York, LA, San Fran, Boston and Miami locations.

I am planning a late Sept. 09 trip to Turkey with a tour group, however I am responsible for my way to Turkey. What are the airlines that fly to Turkey, and do any of them depart from Texas? Please help.

try expedia for flight details

Istanbul is a wonderful city. I hope you have a lovely trip

Is there a site where I can get the lowest airfares available out of particular airport, but the destination is flexible?

If I want to get away, but I’m willing to consider any destination, how do I find the lowest fares out of Philadelphia in December?

I my experience you can not beat the fares you get dealing directly with the airline. That is because all other booking agencies need to charge you a booking fee. To get the best rate try AOL travel and request the Flexible date option to see a wide date range and prices. Find the lowest fare and identify the airline selling it. Then go to the airline site and book directly.

I’m traveling from bogota, but i can’t go through the US is it possible for someone to find me the lowest airfare

CheapTickets.com

Do you have any hints/tips/tricks for finding the low airfare?? Is it better to purchase way in advance, or right before you want to go?? Is it better to go in the "off season" or really not worth the price break?? Looking for any tips anyone has!! Thanks!!

Airfare alert from the airline or American Express travel works great for me. Research several months before if I know I need a ticket to a certain destination.
Checking this site often

If a price is in my budget, I buy immediately. if the price goes down, I call the airline and get a credit.

For vacation I’m planning, I usually book 4-6 months out if it’s a popular destination.

I’m going to the USVI in May and my flight has 4 seats left on it and the price is $150 dollars more.

Research all options EARLY is the best advise I can give you.

Good luck and happy travels)

a lot of websites offer low fares. you just have to find the fare at the right time (usually a few months before the flight in the middle of the week).

Seems like http://www.studentuniverse.com/ would be a good place to look at. They even provide the student section for Travelocity, see: http://www.studentuniverse.com/travelocity

I don’t know the specifics of student discouting on airfares, but I usually find the lowest fares at farechase.com, perhaps try there and then enquire with the relevant airline if a further break is possible with student staus

I want to go on a southern caribbean cruise, but where is the cheapest to book?

If you have never been on a cruise, its best you use a travel agent. Let the agent find the best deal. Remember that the best deal may not be when you have in mind going so you may have to be flexible to get the best price. Prices will vary for the same cruise based on the best times of the year or season. The best times cost more. For example, if you go to Alaska in May, its less expensive than June or July when its a bit warmer. Its less expensive in the Caribbean in mid summer when its hotter and more chance of hurricane; more expensive in Spring and Fall.

Go to the web sites for the cruise lines and shop prices for what you want. The web sites let you do that.

Websites with the Lowest Airfare?

Jul-17-2009 By admin

Im trying to find a ticket that would be $200 round trip but everything i see is $350+. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which websites I should try for the LOWEST prices?

and also, what are some tips on finding a cheap air fare ticket? i know you should book a month early but is there any time in the day that they are less expensive (i.e. prices in the morning v/s prices at night) or something similar to that.

please leave any advice that you may have- this is really important.

A lot of airlines have weekly or weekend specials. Delta has a weekend special every week where you flight out on a Saturday and return either on a Monday or Tuesday.

Where you are flying to as well as when you are flying will make a difference. If you book a ticket 7 days before your trip, it is unlikely you will get a cheap ticket. As for booking in the morning or at night, there is no difference.

Check out alternative airports. For example, Cincinnati tends to have higher airfare than the rest of the country. So what we do is look at flights departing from Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis and Louisville. We end up saving a few hundred dollars per ticket.
