What do I do with my lost luggage situation?
I flew from Heathrow-JFK-DFW on Xmas Day, with American Airlines. At JFK, after passing thru customs, i picked up my luggage to recheck it in, the baggage tags were all the way to DFW. When I got to DFW, only one piece of luggage came thru and the other bag, which was my big suitcase filled with my life's possessions, didnt come through.
AA is clueless as to where it went, its been 5 days and theres still no information. Now theyll forward the case to the central baggage claims center where I have to list every item in the suitcase and they will try to identify it by its contents. Im scared to death because they will give me a teeny refund if they cant find it and the money cannot ever cover the belongings I have in the bag…is there anything I can do? Does anyone know how to handle this?
well they say that 98% of lost luggage is retrieved, if they dont find it then what you should do is exgerate the price of the items that where in the luggage
