A week ago I bought my airfare off of orbitz.com. I don’t know what i do to make sure my luggage all gets to London with me at the same time without it being left in Chicago where I transfer from American Airlines to British Airways. Help!

Yes. But to clarify when you check in make sure you state that you are switiching airlines and you need your luggage moved to that flight at your connection’s destination….

problem with orbitz.com seats?

Nov-25-2009 By admin

we ordered tickets through orbitz.com and i got an email saying that it was confirmed and that "the airline is assigning seats at check-in choose seats" but am i gonna get another email and recieve the number or are they going to tell me at the airport?

You’ll do this when you check-in. If you check in on-line, then you’ll pick your seats as a part of the process before you print your boarding pass. If you check in at the airport, then you’ll get seats at that time.

I saw a couple of deals that looked good late last night, but were gone today. When I called the actual hotel, they told me that those deals did not guarantee the room.?. Anybody.

I use Hotwire almost exclusively for booking hotel rooms. I have booked over 30 room/nights over the past 3 years and have not had one problem. And I have saved a ton of $$. I can’t speak to Expedia or Priceline (although I have used Priceline a couple of times for car rentals). I think it’s the only way to travel!!

my husband is taking me on vacation for my 21st birthday this coming january. is it too far in advance to book it? i would like to go back to las vegas or try somewhere new like hawaii or london.

also, when is the best time to book one? and any good sites besides cheaptickets.com or travelocity.com?

thanks! =]

I am a rodeo cowboy and I tend to travel extensively. You can try a website called bookingbuddy.com. It allows you to check out all of the websites that carry a discount. The only one that is not on there is southwest.com, xjet.com, and allegiant air. Try to book the flight about no earlier than a month out and no later than 2 weeks out. You can monitor the situation during this time and buy when you think the price is right. Hope this helps and have a good b-day!!

The carrier is not disclosed and their fine print says that all information is not checked for accuracy or reliability and discraim damages.. Further it says in the process of verifying credit card the ticket is not confirmed and fares may change

My husband uses cheapoair a lot. THe prices are great, and we haven’t had a problem with our flights. So I’d say they seem reliable.

I’m looking for a flight from Memphis,tn to Jakarta, Indonesia in the middle of May. and I found a really cheap flight. but when I clicked on the seat chart, it showed that there were no available seats to be assigned. but I also notice this on the seat chart…"Not all flights have Seat Map technology." could this mean that there are available seats but they’re just not showing it for this particular flight?

A common reason for this is the fact that airlines hold back blocks of seats for assignment at check-in. This would mean that, despite the conspiracy theories posted above, Travelocity would be able to book a confirmed ticket for you, but would not be able to allocate a seat. That latter would be done at the airport when you check-in.

The reason the airlines hold back seats is so they can group families together who hadn’t previously reserved specific seats, plus emergency exit rows are usually blocked off until they can see the person requesting the seat (can they open the door in an emergency?), and also any "better" seats they can reserve for their frequent flyers who weren’t able to get an upgrade.

Look at the seating chart and see if there appear to be several rows missing in the number sequence. That is often a way that airlines use to block off seats.

if you book your own flights , will the airline company send you the suitcase labels or do you have to provide your own . Thanks
what i mean is the outbound and inbound tickets. Thanks

when u get ur tickets u will be provided labels aswell.
have a good time!

When you book an airline ticket, and sometimes you get to the page where the site pops up a window with a picture/layout of the airplane, the seats available, and the seats unavailable, and you can click and select them.

What kind of online programming langauge is this?

if I wanted someone to hire to do just that, a seat selection/booking web site linked to the real-time information of a company, is it very expensive? Should I patent my idea first?

Don’t even think of patenting such idea: you won’t get it, it is already in the public domain…

There are many ways of doing this, in any language!
You could have an image made of small images (ie one image for each seat). Each seat that is not "red" is clickable. On clicking, you make an AJAX call, store the reservation in the DB, and reload a new image (the image of a red seat).
Could do it as well with a flash program (bit of a waste of time and looking for difficulties)
You probably could get the script on the forum of web2coders.com

I have looked at cheapoair.com and aa.com.
I would love Continental that i used last time,it was great-i flew out of Indiana to New Jersey then straight to Delhi! I am really looking for the same kind of route.1st time it really was horrible too many stops and alot of confusion(Indiana 2 Detroit 2 Amsterdam 2 Delhi)! Nothing wrong with Holland but i couldnt stand the airport,i just would like to have a direct flight to India out of states, like b4.
What i am wanting( and yes i know its probably asking alot for the month of November being hectic bcoz of the holidays)=
1.Reasonable rate
2. From Indiana to ? then directly out to India
3. Date-Nov.7th -14th

Plzzzz help!!!???!!

Maybe i missed something looking online who knows!

~~Thanks everyone for your help~~

I looked on Orbitz, and entered Indianapolis to Delhi and back on your dates. I see several one-stop options:

American, connecting in Chicago: $1692 (the ORD-DEL-ORD are "Jet Airways operated by American Airlines)

The exact same flights as above but bought from American: $2084

Continental, connecting in Newark, $2105.

I’d say that’s pretty darn reasonable for a last-minute ticket to the other side of the world.

Can I use Orbitz at 18?

Nov-3-2009 By admin

I am an 18 year old American planning an interational trip, and I would like to know if there is anything in my way from doing so.

I have a Wells Fargo debit card, and valid passport.

Do you have to be 21 to buy tickets from Orbitz.com ?

If I am going for a short trip, will I need to take any actions with Visas?

Do you foresee any problems for my trip because I’m only 18?

Thanks

As far as I know as long as you have a debit card, you can use orbitz.com. I traveled to Germany when I was 18, and unless you are going to be abroad for a long time, I don’t think you need a visa. As long as it’s just vacationing, I don’t think you need a visa :)
