im alwasy a little skeptical booking my flights online so i always use a travel agent. i asked a simular question last week regarding cheapOair.com and i thank the airport ticket agent who told me they had problems with people who booked their flights with them (cheapOair.com) now i have a simular question this time booking online with orbitz.com. im skeptical because they are $1000.00 less then booking thru all the travel agents ive contacted. I also have another question that is related and that is how can i book a one way ticket as im not sure when i will be returning from my destination.
I think I was the same person who told you about not using cheapOair.
Orbitz, on the other hand, is very reliable. I have booked with them multiple times, and they were more than helpful. They e-mail updates for your trip if flight numbers or times ever change, which has happened to me once (Orbitz is not responsible for that though).
I will never book with a travel agent. They are almost as bad as cheapOair. Some are notorious for pocketing cash from travelers and never booking them a flight. The traveler never stands a chance in court should they sue because there is no record of them ever setting foot in the travel agency.
Here are a few trustworthy websites I’ve relied on before:
Orbitz
Expedia
Travelocity
Priceline
Hotwire
Cheaptickets
Also, try individual airline’s websites like AA.com, southwest.com, united.com, etc.
EDIT: Sorry, I didn’t see the end of the question about booking a one-way ticket. On Orbitz, in the bottom of the box where you type in your information (cities, date, etc.) there is a small link that says "Expand search options." Click this and you will be given more options for your flights, including a button above where you type the cities that says "One-way." This will give you flight options for a one-way ticket.
