Next summer, i’m going to visit a friend in Romania. I was wondering if I’ll be able to get a plane ticket for just myself, or does an adult have to go with me? I’m 15, but when I’ll be 16 when I go. i looked on www.orbitz.com and it said i needed to seach for atleast one adult for that flight.

It depends on your country of departure. Most countries will allow a 16 year old to fly on their own. You still have to show proof of funds, have a round trip or ongoing ticket, and visa where it is called for. Some countries treat your passport as a visa with a stamp.

This is a valuable website for US citizens. http://www.state.gov/countries/

Is Orbitz responsible?

I bought a swamp boat ride through orbitz on our trip to New Orleans. The picture showed a swamp boat with the air fan behind it and we decided that would a wonderful experience. What we got when we arrived was a regular boat ride with about 50 people instead of about 12. I contacted Orbitz and they said that is the picture they got from the vendor…basically to bad. Was I mis-represented about what I was buying (I think so)and are liable for that? I did do the boat cruise but it was not what I thought I paid for.

I think the vendor is responsible. It’s a little stupid of orbitz not to check that out, but ultimately it is the vendor who misrepresented themself. Contact them first then if they won’t do anything try calling Orbitz again, they may be willing to work on the vendor for you. This is why you check guarentees before you buy. I really hope it didn’t ruin your whole trip and the rest of it was enjoyable for you. Such a wonderful city I’d hate to hear you have a sour taste in your mouth now.

Good luck!

im alwasy a little skeptical booking my flights online so i always use a travel agent. i asked a simular question last week regarding cheapOair.com and i thank the airport ticket agent who told me they had problems with people who booked their flights with them (cheapOair.com) now i have a simular question this time booking online with orbitz.com. im skeptical because they are $1000.00 less then booking thru all the travel agents ive contacted. I also have another question that is related and that is how can i book a one way ticket as im not sure when i will be returning from my destination.

I think I was the same person who told you about not using cheapOair.

Orbitz, on the other hand, is very reliable. I have booked with them multiple times, and they were more than helpful. They e-mail updates for your trip if flight numbers or times ever change, which has happened to me once (Orbitz is not responsible for that though).

I will never book with a travel agent. They are almost as bad as cheapOair. Some are notorious for pocketing cash from travelers and never booking them a flight. The traveler never stands a chance in court should they sue because there is no record of them ever setting foot in the travel agency.

Here are a few trustworthy websites I’ve relied on before:

Orbitz
Expedia
Travelocity
Priceline
Hotwire
Cheaptickets

Also, try individual airline’s websites like AA.com, southwest.com, united.com, etc.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn’t see the end of the question about booking a one-way ticket. On Orbitz, in the bottom of the box where you type in your information (cities, date, etc.) there is a small link that says "Expand search options." Click this and you will be given more options for your flights, including a button above where you type the cities that says "One-way." This will give you flight options for a one-way ticket.

Does spirit airlines offer Business class if not why does orbitz sell Business class tickets for spirit?

Ok Im confused..I thought that spirit airlines was a One class airline..but the other day while looking for First class and Business class fares from New York to Costa rica and from Detroit to Cancun..Spirit airlines appeared as one of the options on Cheaptickets.com,Orbitz.com all via fort laudardale
fares ranging from $450 to $850
if Spirit airlines does not offer Business are these sites just trying to scam us into paying higher prices for coach tickets?
Thanks

Spirit Airlines used to offer the "Business Class" service. Now they don’t. They instead offer you the Deluxe Leather Seat, which is the Coach Class, and the Big Front Seat, which are the first two rows in the A319 and the first four or eight in the A321. If you purchase tickets of the Big Front Seats, that does not gives you any special treatment or anything, although they offer a variety of snacks to bought on board, and they are pretty good, and reasonably priced. The seats are very comfortable in "coach", so imagine how are the BFS’s. So I would extrictly reccomend that you choose the Deluxe Leather Seats.

I also reccomend that you do not choose rows 9,10, and 11, on the A319, the do not recline, and it’s awful… Try to take from rows 3-8 and from 12-23, those are pretty good seats.

I would like my niece and nephew to travel from Cleveland Ohio to San Diego this summer, but they will have to fly unaccompanied. What is the best airline -that charges the least amount of fees? I’ve been having trouble searching for tickets from kayak.com, expedia.com, orbitz.com, etc. because there will be no adult traveling with them. Thanks in advance for help!

I have flown alone several times. Out of all the times I did fly on my own I enjoyed Frontier the most

Can I simply go up to the counter at the airport with my confirmation number in tow or is there something specific that I need to print off? Also, if I decided to check in online would I do that with the specific airline or with the website I booked the ticket with (in my case, orbitz.com).

You need to show your Identity proof, some preferable ask for the credit card which you had used fro booking the flight tickets. In the terms and condition they would have asked you to check in minimum of an hour before. So you can collect the ticket at the airlines counter. Booked or going to book, use privateJet for booking cheapest tickets

IS it good to buy ticket from cheaptickets.com, Orbitz.com, expedia.com, and such. It doesn’t feel as safe and true as the original airlines site, because it’s so much cheaper. Please help? Any experience with third-second party site?
how do you know you got your ticket? how can you print it out? how can make sure it went thru?

I use priceline all the time. I travel a lot so I usually look at what the different sites have to offer. The only tricky thing is is that if you use one of those websites and you cancel your ticket you may not get any money back at all, and have to pay a fee if you want to change any of your flights. If you think this is the case then get trip insurance!

Hey guys. I’m trying to book a flight to London in May. I normally fly with American Airlines but it’s gonna be $800 something, which is ridic. I looked on Orbitz and it’s giving me a total of $516.89 including taxes! (https://www.orbitz.com/Secure/ViewReviewPurchase?&retrieveParams=true&z=7a0&r=jt) That’s INSANE! Is Orbitz trustful or is this some sort of scam?… I’ve never used or heard of this website or company or whatever it is before… please help! I have to order my ticket soon! thank you!

Orbitz is a legitimate source of airline tickets.

Take a look at British Airways, as well… They might have a deal going on right now.

I am booking a flight to Dallas, on Orbitz.com. It is with American Airlines, 2 weeks from now. They offer shuttle bus trips to Downtown Dallas/downtown Ft. Worth/Arlington/Irving/Galleria, all for $18. I need a bus ride to a specific address. Does anyone know if they offer rides to specific places? Does anyone have suggestions of other inexpensive options? I just need a one way ride, and I can wait 4 hours to get there, if I have to. Thank you very much!

The airline bus service will take you to downtown Hotels only. You should look at booking something like Super Shuttle. They are not too expensive and they will take you to an exact address.
