Online Tickets and Airline Travel

A week ago I bought my airfare off of orbitz.com. I don’t know what i do to make sure my luggage all gets to London with me at the same time without it being left in Chicago where I transfer from American Airlines to British Airways. Help!

Yes. But to clarify when you check in make sure you state that you are switiching airlines and you need your luggage moved to that flight at your connection’s destination….

problem with orbitz.com seats?

Nov-25-2009 By admin

we ordered tickets through orbitz.com and i got an email saying that it was confirmed and that "the airline is assigning seats at check-in choose seats" but am i gonna get another email and recieve the number or are they going to tell me at the airport?

You’ll do this when you check-in. If you check in on-line, then you’ll pick your seats as a part of the process before you print your boarding pass. If you check in at the airport, then you’ll get seats at that time.

Can I use Orbitz at 18?

Nov-3-2009 By admin

I am an 18 year old American planning an interational trip, and I would like to know if there is anything in my way from doing so.

I have a Wells Fargo debit card, and valid passport.

Do you have to be 21 to buy tickets from Orbitz.com ?

If I am going for a short trip, will I need to take any actions with Visas?

Do you foresee any problems for my trip because I’m only 18?

Thanks

As far as I know as long as you have a debit card, you can use orbitz.com. I traveled to Germany when I was 18, and unless you are going to be abroad for a long time, I don’t think you need a visa. As long as it’s just vacationing, I don’t think you need a visa :)

i just wanna know i wanna purchase a ticket there and all of the airfare tickets on other websites are way more expencive.

Yes it is a good site to book a flight from. Also when looking for a good price, after you find a flight you like on Orbitz, try going to that airlines web site and check it there. Many times the other sites will charge a $10 fee or so, which is how they make their income.

Comparing to other hotels, they always have availability while Paris LV always fully booked according to the website. Like just now, even Orbitz.com said Paris is fully booked but other Hotels seems fine.

They must have offered a sweet deal and everyone jumped on it. They have the best location on the strip and they are usually booked up. Just try another place and you will find something. Just not Paris. It’s nice to see someone booked up solid.

I just want to make sure I have a room for sure when I get there. This is my first time booking a package. Any tips are welcome.

If orbitz says you are confirmed and you have a confirmation number, then that is fine. Just print the orbitz itinerary and bring it with you.

I want ones you dont hear that often. I’ve heard of cheaptickets.com, orbitz.com, priceline.com, …… any new ones?

Actually it’s probably cheapest to go directly through the airlines directly. I always check the expedia.com or one of those sites and then I see which airline has the cheapest flight, and then I go to that airline’s website and pick the same flights and 99% of the time I get the same price. Plus most of those sites charge a "booking fee" of $5 or more. And some airlines at least will guarantee that you’ll find the cheapest fares on their website - I know American Airlines does and probably most other major airlines. Also check the "low-fare" carriers - they only have their tickets on their own website. Although they’re not always the cheapest - JetBlue is always kinda expensive (I hear they’re nice though) and Southwest Airlines just sucks.

yes but there are a bunch more that i would compare before booking. there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

i am going through orbitz.com

"Corporate rate, id required 2 double non smoking micro/refrg wireless high speed internet, microwave"

all of the rooms for this hoel say corporate rate, i dont know what that means…

Also another 1 says this

"Government rate, present id 1 queen non smoking micro/refrg wireless high speed internet, sofa bed"

its confusing

Corporate rate = you have to be staying there on business. They will need some sort of business ID such as a business card.
Government rate = you have to work for the government to be eligible to book this rate. If you do book it the people at check in will be asking you for ID to prove that you work for the government and if you can’t provide the correct ID you will have to pay a higher rate

I want to fly from London to USA and return via a different city.I have used mobissimo.com which is good and gives the price in USD. It has the function for searching for multi city trips. However when i went to the uk version they dont give the option of searching for multi city trips? Is there a reason for this and would there then be any problem if I went ahead and bought off the.com website? Its still charges for airport taxes and the like. Also after multi city check it transferes to orbitz.com to buy the tickets.

As long as it details where you are going from and where you will arrive at each point you should be fine. If you do book i would keep the receipt or bill from the computer if you need cash return.
