Has anyone used Hotwire.com?

Jul-30-2009 By admin

If you have used hotwire, let me know what you thought of the service. When you paid a cheap price for a 4 star hotel, did you get a 4 star hotel?

I’ve gone to two Hotwire Hotels. One of them had great service. It is definitely a 4 - if not 5 star hotel. However, the other one was a nightmare. When I was all tired and droopy, they messed up my luggage with someone else’s, the hotel manager was not helpful, and the maid was coming into my hotel room every 5 minutes, which was an annoyance.

does hotwire.com really workk?

i wanna go on vacation but does hotwire.com really workk? and why doesnt it tell me the name of the hotel? it only says where the Hotels located.

Yes it does.

The deal is that you don’t get to know the hotel until AFTER you pay.

It’s a lot like Priceline in this.

Hotwire is not a scam, they are reputable, and you can very often get a terrific bargain on rooms. The hook is that you do not know what specific hotel you will be staying at until after you enter your payment information. You know the star rating and the neighborhood, but not the name of the property. The rooms are non-refundable, so be sure you want it before you book.

For specific room requests, you need to contact the hotel directly after you book.

i want to get to the hotels website for pics of it. but hotwire will not tell the name of the hotel. the most info they gave was downtown kansas city and crowncenter.

Go to http://www.hotspyer.com

They have a database of Hotels on hotwire, with the star rating, pictures, amenities etc. So basically they give you the information you need to identify the hotel. Just search for the city and state you’re searching in and they’ll give you a list for that area. This way you can know which hotel it is before you book it.

Do they only use the hotels listed when you do a search or do they have "mystery Hotels" (not list on the site) that they only use for people trying to get the lowest rate? Anyone try to get the cheapest rate, what was it name brand or mom & pop?

The use all the major chains and some of the littler groups. I have not seen much in the mom and pop type area.

What garantees do you have with this kind of "good deals"? Why they don’t tell you which hotel untill you purchase your package?

No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
when we did that, we got completely the wrong room! ONLY ONE FULL BED AND THE PEOPLE STAYING IN THAT ROOM HAD 4 PEOPLE!!! No couch bed either!!!

Any Hotwire.com experts?

I am thinking of booking a 4 star in Jdowntown acksonville. I am hesitant because I don’t know which hotel I am going to get.

Anyone use Hotwire? How was the experience?

I agree with the first post–be sure to shop around, because sometimes you can find prices just as good without jumping through all the Hotwire hoops (Hotwire = no changes, no refunds, no upgrades under any circumstances, not knowing which hotel/area, etc.). http://www.bookingbuddy.com/hotel.php might sniff out something better for you, and their search includes Sidestep. Put your city and dates in one time, then choose as many sources as you want. It’s a huge time-saver.

There is a site http://www.biddingfortravel.com that tracks Hotwire and Priceline bids and experiences from users. I see a winning bid on 4 star Omni Jacksonville at $57 per night, from mid-January. This should give you an idea of rock-bottom prices for this level of hotel in Jacksonville. I hope it helps!

How good is hotwire.com?

I have used it several times…it is ok…I liked the special they were running buy now and have 6 months to pay no interest.

Their deals are unbelievable - half of what the car rental place charges. Let me know if you got what you paid for. If there are any hidden cost once you actually go and pick up the car.

I haven’t but I’ve heard good things about it. The hidden costs are the taxes. That’s where they get you.

Hi. I'm thinking of booking my latest travel arrangements with hotwire and wanted to know if anyone has had experience with them.

They have been the cheapest every time for rental car. Southwest has beat them on airfare though.
