It has to do with family rates. If a person that is 18 is traveling with there parents they get a lower rate. If an 18 year old is traveling by themselves then they pay full rate. I think it has to do with family vacations for students still in high school.

I’m trying to book a vacation package from L.A. to N.Y. for my cousin. I couldn’t remember what other sites I have used in the past that are similar to expedia…what are some of the sites or tour sites that you guys have used in the past? can you give me some pointers regarding the ity tours too? thanks.

Sidestep.com checks orbits, expedia, travelocity… all of those sites. I usually check there and also with an agent to find the lowest prices. Most of the time an agent can still get the lowest price.

I am planning a trip to Springfield, Oregon in April and I will be there for ten days and I want a nice place to stay but I need a great rate. The best I can find so far is $70 a night. Is that the best I can get? HELP!

What kind of accommodation are you looking for?

Thank you!

Easiest way is to call the airline directly. I usually do this if I wasn’t able to choose my seats on a site such as expedia. You can do this as soon as your tickets are confirmed.

expedia.com, hotel + car package?

Aug-19-2009 By admin

Has anyone booked hotel + car package from expedia.com before? I am going to Orlando and got a car rental + hotel deal quote on its website but it states "Car taxes and fees not included". When I conatacted customer service, they said the grand total I received online doesn’t inlucde any expense for car rental but hotel. So how much extra I will end up paying out off my pocket when I drop off the rental car

I have never booked both at the same time before. A lot of times package "deals" like that aren’t any cheaper than booking them serperately. And advantage to doing them seperately is that you know how much each one is costing you… in advance.

You don’t mention where you are going, but in the rare event it is Disney World and you are staying at a resort on property you can take advantage of Disney’s free shuttle service from airport to hotel. Then, once you are on property you can use Disney’s free transportation to get around.

im looking to stay at a hotel with two queen or king sized bed in a room and when i looked for a room on expedia.com there is link that says "studio two double smoking" what does that mean?

It’s a bigger room with 2 beds Smoking is allowed

If you want to save $30 for your first night check out this and other expedia.com coupon codes

I’m trying to book a flight for my Grandmother and I need to save as much money as humanly possible.

I usually find the best prices on either expedia.com or southwest.com and I’ve been hearing that they have some pretty decent coupon codes if you know where to look…

Well, retailmenot.com doesn’t have any WORKING codes… And that is the only reliable online coupon code site I know…

Can anyone help me out with a code to help me save some $ on my Grandma’s flight??

Thanks a TON!!!

Try looking at couponshack.com. They always have a ton of great coupon codes for travel sites such as expedia, southwest airlines, etc…
hope it helps!

I want to take a vacation to Tokyo, Japan and I have looked at the pricing options on expedia.com but they all seem too good to be true. I mean come on, $1700 per person for a 6 day vacation including the airline ticket and stay at a 4 star hotel? I thought I would be paying that for the airplane ticket alone. Has anyone ever used expedia.com before and is it reliable? Are there hidden costs that they are not telling me about? I don’t want to use this and then get stuck in a foreign country after I’ve been scammed. Thanks.

It’s not too good to be true - that’s what you would normally pay for Japan. It isn’t THAT expensive. Depending on when you would go, tickets can be anywhere between 800 - 1400 including tax. I just recently flew here for about $1300 round trip, and it is the late summer season. If you go during off-peak times like Sept - Nov or Jan - May, you’ll pay really cheap prices.
Another option into going to Tokyo would be www.iace-usa.com as they can set you up with a good price for a plane ticket and perhaps hotel. Just give it a look. I always use that website.

I spent my entire weekend getting the run around from each of these companies. Each person I spoke with gave me a different option. And one even said that the other didn’t know what they were talking about. So after being on hold for most of the weekend, and being told by expedia I could not cancel until 2 hours BEFORE the plane was to take off I was a bit upset. Because the Hurricane was all over the news. I finally called Delta back and asked for a Supervisor. They put me on hold for OVER AN HOUR! They still flew as of yesterday (Aug 19th). Did anyone else experience this? Is it common for an airline to still fly people during these kinds of conditions. Because they refused to cancel the flight, I now have a voucher with this airline. But I am so angry that I have no desire to travel with them, especially after being put on hold for over an hour to speak to a supervisor.
I was not just inconvienenced an hour. We have to travel 5 hours to get to the airport. We don’t live near any airports. Better customer service and people who know their jobs would have helped us out a lot.

We had reservations there for Friday departure but we used a wonderful travel agent who sold us Trip cancellation Insurance and called to advise us of the impending hurricane. Rather than sit on hold for an hour waiting to speak to someone, he called us. That is one of the many benefits of dealing with a person called a Travel Agent versus booking with Expedia. I tried them once and had nothing but problems and time consumption.
We have canceled our trip there and we are going to Hawaii so watch there will be another one there now! lol It cost us nothing as he got all the cancellations fees waived and he was the one who called us!

I would not let an experience like you had ruin your vacation though. Silly not to use the vouchers because you were inconvenienced for an hour. That is spiting only you. Understand they are dealing with an ongoing emergency of an unknown nature. This is life threatening your hour was not other than high blood pressure.

Try to understand the circumstances and realize that at least you got a voucher from them. Better than nothing and far better than being in harms way. I have been there before when there was a similar thing and it was no fun standing at that airport for a day. Far better than going through a hurricane for even an hour especially a cat 5, much less Cancun.

Just wait it out and don’t let this or anything ruin your precious vacation.

experiences with expedia.com?

Jul-11-2009 By admin

for our honey moon, my fiance and i were considering booking a flight and hotel package to Los Angeles, ca. through expedia.com. i am a little hesitant about buying this online. if anyone has booked through them could you tell me how your experience was with them? thank you

Yes, they are reputable. I formerly worked for them and I still book trips through them.

There are not necessarily "extra fees once you arrive at the resort" as another answer states. Some resorts do have extra fees, but those are posted on the website if they exist. You just have to read the information. And, you don’t get a better deal a majority of the time "booking it directly with the company". You may get a better deal that way, but not always. We blocked large numbers of rooms at many major Hotels at deep discounts and often sold the rooms for less than you would pay if you called the hotel directly. I booked my last trip (April, 2008) through them for precisely that reason.
