I will be flying from LAX-SFO on United and I’m not sure if I should pay an extra $14 to fly Economy Plus one way. Is sitting in a better coach section worth my money on a 1 and 1/2 hour flight?

Please describe to me in the most detail as possible of United’s Economy Plus seats. What are the features of the seat and is it really much difference from regular economy seating. Inform me of every detail you know about the economy plus seat. I am very curious in knowing. Thanks!

The seats are identical to the standard coach seats, with two differences:

1. They are located at the front of the economy class cabin

2. The pitch between rows is further apart

My brother-in-law is a baggage handler for Alaska Airlines and when I saw your question I had to phone him.
Not to ask your question but to see if he was alright.

Ok, so i have to do a project in class, but its a short one, and we need to write down ten facts about 9/11. I all ready have 7 facts, and here they are:

The structural steel of the skyscraper, built to withstand winds in excess of 200 mph and a large conventional fire, could not withstand the tremendous heat generated by the burning jet fuel.

When the Second tower was it hit, it was turned around in a 360 direction.

Only six people in the World Trade Center towers at the time of their collapse survived. Almost 10,000 other people were treated for injuries, many severe.

The passengers fought the four hijackers and are suspected to have attacked the cockpit with a fire extinguisher. The plane then flipped over and sped toward the ground at upwards of 500 miles per hour, crashing in a rural field in western Pennsylvania at 10:10 a.m.

At 8:45 a.m. on a Tuesday morning, an American Airlines Boeing 767 loaded with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel crashes into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. The impact left a gaping, burning hole near the 80th floor of the 110-story skyscraper, instantly killing hundreds of people and trapping hundreds more in higher floors.

The attackers were Islamic terrorists from Saudi Arabia and several other Arab nations.

American Airlines Flight 77 circled over downtown Washington and slammed into the west side of the Pentagon military headquarters at 9:45 AM.

New York took a catastrophic turn for the worse when the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed in a massive cloud of dust and smoke.

And those are facts i have right now. So if you could give me three more, it would be appreciated

343 Firefighters died in the collapse of the World Trade Center, along with 37 Port Authority police and 23 NYPD.

Approximately 200 people jumped to their deaths from the Towers.

The FAA ordered all aircraft to land immediately at the nearest airport and all commercial and private flights were cancelled.

do they mail the plane tickets? etc.?

Yes, once you pay for your order they mail everything to you in the mail. You have the option to speed it up but it usually takes at the most 3 weeks.

I will be traveling to Lima Peru in May and would appreciate any info on their service. What should I expect?

I really recommend Continental. I have traveled to Peru mostly through Lan Chile, because it is a very well known and trusted airline. Then I tried Taca and also Continental. All of these offered great services and timing, no delays, no troubles and prices where great.

I DO NOT recommend Avianca or Copa. They are bad in my opinion.

Im planning on visiting a friend stationed in Spangdahlem. But i do not know how to go about gettin there. Taxi sounds to expensive.. and He says Frankfurt is the closest airport to him. But i fly American Airlines, and i dont see a close connection? Can anyone help me? And also trying to see whats an easier way of gettin there other then a taxi? Train, buses? any ideas?

American flies direct to Frankfort. From there you will have to catch Deutsche Bahn (national train system) from the Frankfort International Airport terminal. You can get on the intercity train right at the airport - for information/tickets, go to the train information section in the airport, or ‘DB’ station, as it’s called. (The international sign for information, ‘i’, will be posted just outside the office.)

At the information office, purchase a ticket to SPEICHER and be sure to ask which gate to catch your train at. From the Frankfurt Airport, you will take the train to KOBLENZ. At KOBLENZ you will change trains, taking the one to TRIER. At TRIER, you will have to change trains once more…catch the next one to SPEICHER, then get off at that stop. The conductors usually do not announce each stop, so you will have to watch out the window for the town sign as you’re pulling up to each stop. From SPEICHER, take a taxi to SPANGDAHLEM (there is only one taxi service in Speicher; telephone numbers are: 06562-1051/06562-930090 or car phone number 0172-6954535). You will need approximately 73 Deutsch Marks per person for the entire train ride, and about 22-27 Deutsch Marks for the taxi ride (if you want to, you can add one or two DMs in for a tip). Dollars can be converted at the airport if necessary. If you choose this option, be sure to save your receipts for your travel voucher.

I mean it takes so long on public transport to get from the New York airports to the centre of New York City. So as yesterday’s experiences show there has to be scope for a faster airborne service is there not?
No I agree the pilot did an excellent job!

…of course if it had been me I would have brought it up to the pier so that the passengers could disembark without getting their feet wet.

Ha ha, that’s an absolute classic. Love it.

Who likes Southwest Airlines? What are your pros and cons? I’ve flown them but I’m just wondering what other people think. Do you wish they had inflight meals? How do they keep the cost so low.

Who has flown Alaska Airlines? What are they like? Are they good? Pros and cons?

Alaska, Alaska, Alaska!
Clean planes, nice people, innovative food, roomie legroom…this little airline could sure teach the big boys a thing or two.
Hands down…ALASKA

Comparing to other hotels, they always have availability while Paris LV always fully booked according to the website. Like just now, even Orbitz.com said Paris is fully booked but other Hotels seems fine.

They must have offered a sweet deal and everyone jumped on it. They have the best location on the strip and they are usually booked up. Just try another place and you will find something. Just not Paris. It’s nice to see someone booked up solid.

This could be a great opportunity for you to earn a bonus 20,000 ("WorldPerks") miles in the Northwest Airlines promotional program called "the Great Race"

Please see http://www.fodors.com/forums/threadselect.jsp?fid=2&tid=35103082 for more info.

I am not affiliated with Northwest Airlines in any way, except in the sense of being a member of their World Perks program - - and prepared to help YOU (and myself) earn a bonus 20,000 miles!

Best wishes,

Rex, a physician, in Indiana

I was, but read the rules first and found out I was disqualified. It’s a program to try to bring back people who enrolled in Worldperks but barely use it. If you have earned any Worldperks miles since Jan. 1, 2006 you are ineligible.
