For United airlines would my son, 17, be able to fly unaccompanied? I’m asking because they seem some what stricter with that aspect, dealing with children/teens.

here is united’s policy on unaccompanied minors:

United offers unaccompanied minor service for children from 5-17 years of age. For the safety of minors traveling alone, unaccompanied minor service will ensure that your child is boarded onto the aircraft, introduced to the flight attendant, chaperoned during connections and turned over to the appropriate person upon arrival at their final destination. The service is mandatory for unaccompanied minors 5 to 11 years old and optional for 12- to 17-year-olds. If the child is traveling as an unaccompanied minor, he or she may not travel on the last direct or connecting flight of the day. Notify us at 1-800-UNITED-1 when making your reservation so essential information can be noted for your child. Be aware that the responsible adult bringing the child to the airport (including camp counselors, etc.) must remain at the airport until the child boards and the aircraft departs the gate.

The following rules apply to those customers traveling on United-operated flights only. If an unaccompanied minor is scheduled to travel on a flight operated by one of our Star Alliance or code share partners, you are required to contact the carrier directly to inquire about their policies for children traveling unaccompanied.

5-7 years
Children ages 5-7 may travel on United flights that are nonstop or do not require a change of airplane. They may not travel on connecting flights. They may also travel on the last non-stop flight of the day.

8-11 years
Children ages 8-11 may travel on United non-stop, direct and connecting flights. (A direct flight makes a stop but there is no plane change.) They may also travel unaccompanied on connecting flights to Other Airlines. Children ages 8-11 are restricted from connecting to the last flight of the day which includes the last direct flight of the day. An exception can be made for children connecting to and from international flights.

12-17 years (optional)
Unaccompanied minor service is available, but not required, for this age group. We strongly recommend that teenagers who are not using our unaccompanied minor service be confirmed on flights early in the day. Unanticipated delays or cancellations and unexpected weather such as fog, snow, thunderstorms or air traffic congestion may disrupt flight schedules and result in misconnections. If delays result in travel the following day, United may not be able to offer overnight accommodations since many Hotels will not accept minors aged 17 or younger. If unaccompanied minor service is requested, standard fees will apply.

If a child aged 12-17 years is traveling as an unaccompanied minor, he or she will be accepted under the conditions specified for unaccompanied minors aged 8-11 years.

When two or more unaccompanied minors are traveling together, the most restrictive age requirement will apply. For example, an 11-year-old traveling with a 6-year-old may only travel on nonstop flights or flights that do not require a change of airplane.

Booking travel for unaccompanied minors
There are several convenient ways to book your child’s travel:
United Reservations
Travel agency
If your unaccompanied child’s reservation was booked via united.com, please contact United Reservations at 1-800-UNITED-1 (1-800-864-8331) to ensure essential information is entered into our computer system. Such information includes the names of individuals bringing your children to the airport and picking them up at their destination. Please have names, addresses and phone numbers handy to help expedite the call.

Required paperwork
In addition, paperwork with names, addresses and phone numbers of the responsible adult at the departure and arrival airports must also be presented at check in and will travel with your child. To expedite the check in process, we highly recommend filling out the Unaccompanied Minor Request for Carriage form prior to arriving at the airport. You can download the form via the link below. Upon completion of the form please print and sign three copies. Keep one copy for your records and bring the other two copies to present to the agent at the check in counter. You must have Adobe Reader to view and complete this form. Once you have successfully downloaded and opened the form, you can type your information directly into the form and print three copies.

Unaccompanied Minor Request for Carriage Form

Unaccompanied minors must be brought to the departure airport by a parent or responsible adult (including camp counselors, etc.) who must remain at the airport until the child boards and the aircraft departs the gate. This individual must provide evidence that another parent or responsible adult will meet the child at his or her destination.

To ensure that children are released to the proper person, the adult meeting unaccompanied children at their destination must show photo identification and sign the Unaccompanied Minor form.

Unaccompanied minor fees for world

Im turning 16 and i dont want to have a party but i was thinking about taking some friends to miami go shoping, restaurantthen a concert. but I dontr eally wantto spend a lot of money at the restaurant so is there any place that is nice lookin but the food is not expensive? somewhere near Miami south beach close to american airlines. Any ideas? thanks!

Flanagan’s…Or a nice Cuban place downtown in the S.E. area. Mr. Latin Cafe

IS it good to buy ticket from cheaptickets.com, Orbitz.com, expedia.com, and such. It doesn’t feel as safe and true as the original airlines site, because it’s so much cheaper. Please help? Any experience with third-second party site?
how do you know you got your ticket? how can you print it out? how can make sure it went thru?

I use priceline all the time. I travel a lot so I usually look at what the different sites have to offer. The only tricky thing is is that if you use one of those websites and you cancel your ticket you may not get any money back at all, and have to pay a fee if you want to change any of your flights. If you think this is the case then get trip insurance!

In what terminal in Memphis,Tennessee is Northwest Airlines located??
Also which concourse in Minneapolis St.Paul is Northwest Airlines located??
Just wondering, because I’m going there alone w/attendant and I couldn’t remember where the gates were, and I wanna know how far I’ll have to walk. Thanks! ( =
Tried that already.

Memphis- Baggage & Gataes are in terminal B

Minneapolis- Runs NWA in the Lindbergh Terminal which operates in Concourses: A, B, C, D, F, G. I’m sure that you gate # & info WILL be on your ticket. If your still unsure you can most certainly ask.

Do you have any hints/tips/tricks for finding the low airfare?? Is it better to purchase way in advance, or right before you want to go?? Is it better to go in the "off season" or really not worth the price break?? Looking for any tips anyone has!! Thanks!!

Airfare alert from the airline or American Express travel works great for me. Research several months before if I know I need a ticket to a certain destination.
Checking this site often
http://www.bookingbuddy.com

If a price is in my budget, I buy immediately. if the price goes down, I call the airline and get a credit.

For vacation I’m planning, I usually book 4-6 months out if it’s a popular destination.

I’m going to the USVI in May and my flight has 4 seats left on it and the price is $150 dollars more.

Research all options EARLY is the best advise I can give you.

Good luck and happy travels)

Are there any low cost airlines in South America?
I am going there next year & want to know the best/cheapes/quickest way to get around?

The only true "low-cost" airline in Latin America is Gol, which is a Sao Paulo-based airline. The bad news is that in keeping with the low-cost model, they do not offer much in the way of service outside of Brazil, except to Buenos Aires.

If you’re looking to travel between two points in two different countries, then there are only three airlines with service and a safety record that would merit a recommendation:

1) TAM (Based in Brazil)
2) TACA (Based in El Salvador)
3) LAN (Based in Chile, Argentina and Peru)

The only problem is that these are not "low-fare" airlines in the sense of their distribution, meaning they all still follow the old ways where the lowest fares were only sold through preferred travel agencies—meaning that many times you will not get these fares over the internet. (This also has to do with the low penetration rate of internet households in Latin America)

Therefore, just follow the basic rule of thumb when picking an airline, which is that airlines that DO NOT offer the best schedule generally compensate to get traffic in that route by offering a lower fare.

Example: If you are flying from Miami to Sao Paulo, you will find that the highest fare of the above airlines is on TAM, because they offer nonstop service. But if you check with LanChile with a connection over Santiago, you will get a lower fare. (Conversely, if you look for a low fare from Miami to Santiago, try TAM connecting via Sao Paulo rather than nonstop on LAN!)

Has anyone used Hotwire.com?

Jul-30-2009 By admin

If you have used hotwire, let me know what you thought of the service. When you paid a cheap price for a 4 star hotel, did you get a 4 star hotel?

I’ve gone to two Hotwire Hotels. One of them had great service. It is definitely a 4 - if not 5 star hotel. However, the other one was a nightmare. When I was all tired and droopy, they messed up my luggage with someone else’s, the hotel manager was not helpful, and the maid was coming into my hotel room every 5 minutes, which was an annoyance.

I have been watching videos on Youtube of people who have Frontier Airlines A319’s and A318’s for FSX but I can’t seem to find one anywhere.
Please help!

All the different Frontier liveries, plus almost every other airline imaginable.

I want to be a flight attendant but I’m stuck I have no clue weather to work for Continental or Delta?

On trips this spring, we flew on both, and as customers, preferred Continental.

The are USA based airlines, and both are fierce competitors with each other and American Airlines.

in all my id my middle name is written before my first name, so when i was booking my airplane ticket with american airlines, i put my first name (which to evryone it wud b my middle name) and my last name. its written ex: costa stephanie cinani…i refer to myself as stephanie not costa..so is that gonna be a problem going through al the security stuff at the airport?.

I have the same situation, not any problems so far.
good luck and enjoy your trip
