I am transporting my pets through United Airlines and I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not I can rent kennels through them. otherwise I'll buy them from wal-mart.

Thanks for your time.

got this from UA website

Kennels

You and United® must follow USDA regulations on the size of your pet's kennel. The kennel must be sturdy, properly ventilated, and large enough for your pet to stand, lie down, and turn around freely. The kennel must close securely with a mechanism that requires no special tools to operate. Prescribed kennels are available at most airlines for a fee. When in doubt, check with United, because the USDA assigns full responsibility for accepting the proper kennel to the airline.

Kennel requirements
Your pet's kennel must:

* Contain no more than one adult dog or cat, or no more than two puppies or kittens younger than six months and under 20 pounds each
* Display "LIVE ANIMAL" labels with letters at least one inch high; labels must appear on top and on at least one side (labels are available at check-in)
* Certify with a signature the last time (within four hours before bringing your pet to the airport) that your pet was offered food and water
* Indicate your name and address
* Indicate the top with arrows or "This End Up" marking (labels available at check-in)
* Include food and water dishes (both empty) secured inside the kennel and accessible from outside
* Contain absorbent material or bedding, such as newspaper
* Show a food and water schedule

Kennel checklist

* Kennel construction meets acceptable requirements (no wheels, no wire kennels, no collapsible kennels, leakproof bottom and absorbent material). There must be a one-inch spacer bar around the kennel.
* Hardware (bolts/screws) complete and assembled
* Door lockable and secure
* Kennel size allows freedom of movement for your pet to stand, lie down and turn around freely
* Ventilation standards: domestic three sides, international four sides (includes door)
* Health certificate
* Correct labeling (live animal and directional up arrows)
* Water/feed dishes (two dishes or divided dish)
* Feeding and watering certification completed

with regards to renting, i doubt that they do have that service.

i used to move people's household goods and personal effects worldwide including their pets, we do subcontract the pets thru another company..if you do opt for that then that company would provide the kennel for you. you could also advise them if you'd like your pet to travel on the same flight with you.

Yikes.
You can either call Travelocity, or the airlines.

You "no -showed" a flight.

There are alot of tickets out there with airline rules that say "must cancel before first day of travel to retain value"

If you are lucky, yours is not like that.

If you have a non-restrictive ticket…( not likely unless it was really really expensive) this will not be a problem.

You can't just "reschedule" you have to pay a fee to
"reissue' the ticket. usually it's:

$100 airline fee
$30 travelocity fee
$??? Fare difference between the old and new fare.

It's like buying a brand new ticket and using the old one towards the new one.

You can save $30 by going to the airline directly.
You stand a good chance that there is no value to your ticket if you did not call the airline or Travelocity to cancel before you missed it

Could you check if I have mistakes in these paragraphs, I will appreciate your help

A Deathly Date: 9/11
Many relevant successes have occurred along United States history. The country always had been strong and faced up against critical situations. But on September 11th 2001 United States of America was basically put on its knees for a few hours. Two American Airlines airplanes with crew and passenger on board hit the famous Twin Towers in New York City. The principal guilty of this attack was Osama Bin Laden who still remain hide from United States law.

The first plane hit the North Tower around 8:20 am. Many people were on their daily routine as every day, and could never imagined some of them were to be face to face with death shortly. Flight # impacted the tower killing instantly passengers and people located on the impacted floors. They did not have time to ask for help, everything occurred in a second. Minutes later, another American Airlines plane hit South Tower, repeating the deathly scene on North Tower. New York City was under a high emergency moment vulnerable to the enemy.

Many relevant successes have occurred along United States history. (what is this sentence about?) The country WAS strong and faced (x) critical situations. (what is this sentence about?) But on September 11th, 2001(insert , ) THE United States of America was (x) BROUGHT TO its knees for a few hours. (maybe you want too rephrase sentence after basically) Two American Airlines airplanes with crew and passengerS on board(,) hit the famous Twin Towers in New York City. The CULPRIT guilty of THE attack was Osama Bin Laden who HAS ELUDED JUSTICE TO THIS DAY.

It has a this thing where you can check the application status. First when i sent it it said application received and now it says REFERRED TO www.skywest.com, what does that mean?
Thanks

Skywest does not directly review the applications that you submit online, they contract with an independent agency to do it for them. The message indicates that your application has been screened for certain requirements, passed, and has been forwarded to Skywest for consideration.

Such as cheapoair.com…etc.
If it helps, it's from Seattle to Istanbul!

Thanks in advance!

There is no secret magic website with the "cheapest" fares. You have to do the research. You also don't say when you want to travel and that matters a lot.

Check the travel sites (airgorilla, expedia, travelocity, etc.) and also check the airline sites. Be as flexible as possible regarding travel dates and consider splitting your trip to take advantage of "special" fares.

For example, Seattle to Istanbul (all on one ticket) in March is about $1200 r/t on Lufthansa via Frankfurt (including taxes).

However, Seattle to Frankfurt in March is $600 round trip on Delta and Frankfurt to Istanbul is $300 r/t on Turkish Airlines (including taxes).

I have almost always found the best fares on the airline websites.

Good luck!

Orbitz.com or Hotels.com?

Apr-29-2009 By admin

I'm booking a hotel in Anaheim, CA and wanted to know if anyone knew which website, orbitz or hotels, was better to deal with? They are both the same prices but I just wanted to check and see if maybe one site was better than the other when booking and paying?

I have used both orbitz and hotels.com. Both have been good, never had any problems. I usually use them, if I want a specific area or neighborhood.

However, I also tried hotwire for the first time a few weeks ago. I just wanted to be in a general area and didn't care what hotel I stayed at. I ended up saving over $50 from the price that was listed on orbitz and Hotels.com. So it worked out well.

Will NWA let you bring crutches w/ u on board??

All airlines allow crutches on board. Once you are seated they will place them in a closet until needed. Not a good idea to put them in the overhead compartment with the way that they are stuffed with everything but the kitchen sink. Going through security may be challenging as you will have to stand for the pat-down, after that it is smooth sailing.

I'm going on my first ever plane trip next Monday, May 4th. I was wondering if you're allowed to pack your phone charger and if you are allowed to use your iPod in flight? I am taking Northwest Airlines - Pinnacle Airlines…

I tried looking on their sites for this information but couldn't find it…

Also, if you guys have any tips that would be great!
I would appreciate a serious answer, as well… If that's possible…

lol…yes you are allowed to but your cell phone needs to be off the whole time…they will tell you that, you can def have an ipod!!! when you get on the airplane, and are ready to go, they will give you a safety demonstration, then right before you are about to take off they will tell you to turn all electronics off, once you get high enough in the air you can turn them back on, except for the cell phone, you shouldn't turn that back on until the plane is fully landed! as for charger…yes, as long as you aren't trying to charge your items while on the plane…lol…

ok so here are some tips…

make sure all electronics are charged before you leave, try to travel as light as possible, put one outfit into your carry on (in case your baggage gets lost), roll your clothes, or use the bundle method (i will give you a video link for both), bring enough to keep you entertained on the flight but don't take too much, practice the 3-1-1 rule (link below), wear flats or slip on shoes on the flight, don't wear a bunch of bobby pins, clips, etc that are metal (it will make the security process faster), and finally…HAVE FUN :D

Starting April 1 Ryan air will no longer allow 14-17 year old to travel unacompanied. This means that all passangers under 18 after April 1 2009 will have to have an adult passanger with them on every flight.

Easyjet will still allow passangers as young as 14 to travel alone. Air lingus will still let children as young as 12 travel alone without supervision. British airways will also allow passangers as young as 12 travel without a parent or escort service.

How will other European and north American airlines respond to Ryan airs policy? I think Ryan airs new policy that will go affect on April 1st is a little too extreme. Will other European airlines end up getting the child passangers who are now going to be too young to fly Ryan air or will Other Airlines raise their flying alone age to 18?

I'm way past age 18. When I was a teen in the 1990s I flew alone to visit family.

No north American carrier has this strict of a policy that Ryan air is going to adopt in April 2009.
I called the one pound per minute telephone number and a ryan air agent asked her supervisor. Her supervisor told her that this new policy is correct.
Here is the new policy from Ryan Airs website:

Children under the age of 14 years must always be accompanied on the same reservation by a passenger over 16 years. AS AND FROM THE 1st APRIL 2009 ALL CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18 YEARS MUST ALWAYS BE ACCOMPANIED ON THE SAME RESERVATION.
On a different section of the Ryan air terms website I found this:

Children under the age of 14 years must always be accompanied on the same reservation by a passenger over 16 years. AS FROM THE 1st APRIL 2009 ALL CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 16 YEARS MUST ALWAYS BE ACCOMPANIED ON THE SAME RESERVATION.

Could Ryan Air have made a mistake?

AS FROM THE 1st APRIL 2009 ALL CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 16 YEARS MUST ALWAYS BE ACCOMPANIED ON THE SAME RESERVATION.

From Ryanair website.

I'm looking at traveling in November BEFORE Thanksgiving, any suggestions?

advance tickets at least two months before (non-refundable) and usually the late night/early morning (red-eye) flights are probably cheapest. just be sure to shop around and fly into dallas love field, not dfw international. the price differences are quite substantial due to landing and take-off fees, and the cost for transportation to area Hotels is also substantial since love field is in dallas and dfw is much further away, even thopugh the city limits are split between three cities. dfw has parts in fw and parts in dallas, as well as the cities of arlington and grand prairie south of the airport proper which you have to go through to get anywhere. both american and united, as well as delta fly into dfw, but not as many fly into love so check in advance for what flights are available to each. i suggest you fly southwest, since it is much cheaper and doesn't go to dfw, just love field. i think it flies out of midway in chicago, but i'm not certain.
