If so what was it like? My husband worked for Northwest Airlines for 17 years on the ramp and has a "group" interview with Southwest Airlines next week. He is wondering what the process is like.

The group interview is the first of three steps in getting hired onto Southwest. As soon as you walk in the door for the group you are being evaluated. Be sure and dress sharp, bring a smile, and have the ability to stand up and talk about your past history. Also, you maybe asked to stay for 1 on 1 interviews if they have time so be prepared with your resume and your application filled out to perfection.

One last tip: be sure and learn about the history of Southwest Airlines

I am looking for a way to find hotels but I don't want to book them online, I want to book hotels by either calling them or going to there independent website. The reason for this is I figured out booking engine sites charge more money for using them to book. I have saved substantial amounts of money by booking directoy from the Hotels. What I am looking for is a directory just for hotels and most importantly has the hotels independent website and phone number, please help..!?

You can use the systems on internet to find hotels, read reviews and even see how much they would charge and if they have rooms available for when you want to go.
Then you make a note of the name of the hotel and use a search engine (google or something like that) to find the website of the hotel or a hotel listing for the town.
With that information you can phone them.

Of course, you can also just use Google to find hotels without using the booking sites, but I found they have useful information about the hotels, certainly when you find one that has reliable reviews.

The old way is to buy a guidebook, buy the one made for your kind of budget, and phone based on the reviews in that book.
For backpackers and budget travelers the Lonely Planet series are great, but if you like 4 star hotels they will not be as helpful.

Which site would be the best to start looking depends on where as much as how expensive. I would just spend an hour or so and do several searches, both using a booking site as first source and using a search engine without a booking site to.

I went to two interviews last spring for Air Canada Flight Attendant position. Unfortunately I was not successful. I attended an open house today and was again invited for the second interview. However this year they told me immediately about a second interview, whereas the last time it took a few days. Is this a positive sign?

I was at the open house for Air Canada today, too. Unfortunately, I didn't get a second interview. I spoke with quite a few others and they said they didn't get one either so I guess they were pretty picky today. Definitely a good sign, though. A few years ago they used to have three interviews and now they only have two..this means you're halfway finished (medical exam and training course excluded). I'm kind of jealous (haha) but good job and good luck at your next interview!

Which is better in terms of seat comfort and service?

I'm thinking of flying United Airlines's economy class instead of Northwest this time.

Anyone who has taken both airlines' flights from Singapore to Tokyo Narita? Would like to hear your opinion. I'm only choosing between these 2 airlines so please don't recommend SIA as it's out of my budget. Thanks.

Both Carriers flight depart early in the morning from SIN to NRT (since this is a connecting flight from SIN to LAX/SFO/ORD/JFK - USA via NRT. Thorough Security Screening and you're required to arrived minimum 3 hours for check in at Changi Airport) and the flight duration from SIN to NRT is 7 Hours and 25 Minutes.

United Airlines Depart for NRT at 7.15am using Boeing 777-200 with 3 Classes Configuration. Economy Class seats are 2 x 5 x 2. IFE - Economy passenger have their individual video screens, but without AVOD.

Northwest Airlines Depart for NRT at 6am using Airbus A330-200 with 2 Classes Configuration. Coach Class seats are 2 x 4 x 2. IFE - Coach passenger have their individual video screens, including Audio Video On Demand (AVOD).

Both Carriers' are using relatively new aircrafts and they provide Meal - Breakfast and light refreshment during the 7 Hours and 25 Minutes flights to NRT. The Inflight service for both Carriers' are good.

Make sure you go to bed Early prior to your check-in at Changi Airport and arrived at Changi Airport 1 for Northwest Airlines & Changi Terminal 3 for United Airlines as early as 3am for their strict Security Screening since this are for for outbound Flights to USA.

I searched the website, can't find a phone number. Just an e mail form to e mail my question. Why can't we talk to real people these days?

Cendant owns Cheaptickets.com. Their number is:
(973) 428-9700

Can i carry deodrant, hair oil / hair gel and other baisc liquids while flying in a domestic airlines?

See TSA site below for list of what you can carry in your carry-on and checked luggage.

and is it normal for flights to go up in a few hours? I checked it a few hours ago, and it's gone up a hundred dollars since then!

Yeah thats normal. Well it could depend what site you are on.

I always book my airline tickets with

flightcentre.com

;) goodluck

I want you to correct right city that the United Airlines Headquarter is in the city.

Elk Grove Village

A suburb of Chicago.

In a few months I'm flying from Brazil back to Vancouver via Toronto. Apparently Air Canada requires pets to travel in the baggage compartment on international flights, and as AC Live Product on flights within Canada. Both rather expensive.

if you get caught you'll be in trouble!!

We are renting as car as well. So we can drive to Destin need be. I just need the closest Airport that Southwest Airlines flies into Destin, FL. Thanks.

New Orleans is the closest.
