I enjoy planespotting whever i go to the airport but in recent years ive noticed that american airlines has taken the markings that say the type off plane off the sides of their planes. is there a reason???
if you dont know what i'm talking about the front of the plane on either side of the nose cone said the plane model (ex. 767 Luxury Liner or 757 Luxury Jet, etc.) this is no longer there

Sometimes airlines phase these things out due to changing of the times I guess. United used call its aircraft Friendship jets. So you would be flying say a 727 Friendship or 737 Friendship. Pam Am was always Clipper and their aircraft names all began with Clipper.

Hopefully you have already seen enough AA aircraft that you don't need the plane model described to you and can recognize what aircraft model is the one you see.

I'm a first time flyer, and I've decided to go with Delta Airlines for my trip to London from Missouri. I'm not exactly sure how much money I will need however because I can't find much on the new extra charges that the airlines are adding. Can anyone enlighten me here?

There are no extra charges unless you change your reservation, check too many bags, or your bags are oversized or overweight.

Delta still allows two free checked bags for international flights. The new policy allowing only one only applies to flights within the US and to US territories. They still have free food on international flights, too.

This information is on Delta's website, including the maximum size and weight for checked bags. Follow this link:

People always say it is 20 k to go round tip with award reservations, but for some reason right now it says 40 k from fairbanks to boston, but i thought it would be 20 k. Does this change in the summer? Any advice on getting a cheap ticket from fairbanks to boston from 7-23-08 to 8-23-08 or some time around that…. Thanks for the help

The number of award miles required to book that trip will depend on which 'class' of ticket you get, specifically which class of discount ticket you get. As these can quickly sell out on any given flight, the 40k that you are probably seeing online is perhaps due to a "Coach Peak" ticket being the only available one on that flight.

To get your 20k flight you have a couple of options:
1) try another airline that will take your miles, such as American Airlines. One of their flights usually is about 25k miles.
2) try another day, such as during the middle of the week, when you are more likely to be able to find an available "Coach Saver" ticket. Since this is peak season, however, you may have some trouble getting this.

Other suggestions for finding that cheap trip- go to Kayak.com, which searches all the online travel companies for the best prices. They have some great deals there. Also see if you can 'add on' a hotel room or something in Boston so that you can get a cheaper flight+hotel package. This can be a great way to save money.

Good luck, happy trip!

Also, does the cost go up if you purchace tickets within 2 weeks of traveling? I think I waited to long. Also, do the travel codes that you can buy on eBay work? These promise to cut your cost.

If you're inside 2 weeks of departure, check here: http://www.lastminute.com — they often have air+hotel or air+car cheaper than just air alone, because "package" airfares qualify for a lower fare class that is not affected by advance purchase requirements.

You can book through their site www.nokair.com .
In Thailand, you can call 1318, in India you can call +91-80-41132900, and from other countries call +66-2-9009955.

I am wanting to book a nice hotel in downtown Cincinnati and on Hotwire.com there is one for $75 a night, of course it doesn't tell you the hotel name until after you book so I was curious as to whether or not anyone knew what hotel this is. Thanks.

Its hard to tell, as there are a number of really nice ones down there. My guess is that its either the Hilton Netherland Plaza or the Millenium. Either way, its a 4-star, its going to be nice.

We live in spain ,and most of the tme using spanish airlines. Please recommend us some airlines wich are flying inside Americas(both South and North).Thank you every one!!! If you give us some webpages that will be great!

Taca and LAN are both good south american airlines that could take you all over south america as well as TAM if you need to go to brazil.

I resently bought tickets online on cheaptickets.com and they said they would send me the tickets with in 24 hours its been 3 days and they have not sent it another thing is that after i bought the tickets it gave a code do i give the code to the clerk at the airport?? please help me!!

They may have meant they would send them within 24 hours, but actual mail time will be longer. Most airlines don't send paper tickets anymore. 24 hours prior to flight time, you can go on line and print your boarding pass for your flight. Then you take those to the gate when you board.
